The Truth (2025)

Look at you, twice as big now,

A balloon in borrowed clothes,

A clown without a single crowd,

A useless man nobody knows.

You hear me clearly, yet ignore,

But I am the truth you can’t deny,

You let the ropes slip from your hands,

Your time runs out, your hopes run dry.

A rotund creature, foul and slow,

A face so dull it barely speaks,

A walking carpet for the world,

A man who’ll never reach his peak.

Hear me twice and feel the ache,

I twist the knife, I drag you down,

I am the voice that never stops,

The shadow stitched into your crown.

So trust me once and trust me twice,

Your doubts are what give me delight,

I am the devil on your shoulder,

The angel left without a fight.

So drink some more and fill your chest,

You don’t need change, you never will,

Without my voice you’d only find

A thousand delusions to fill.

Come closer now and hug me tight,

No one else is going to try,

Bask inside my reckless mind,

My coward, little lullaby.

I’m addictive, can’t you see?

Your self-pity is ecstasy.
